Who We Are
GREAT SAVE has become one of world’s leading online goalkeeper specialists. We opened in 2004 Co Founded By Martin Sanders and Simon Lilly. The company was the evolution of a local sports retailer Sanders Sports. GREAT SAVE specialise in everything for the football goalkeeper goalkeeper gloves, junior goalkeeper equipment, football boots, and base layer clothing. Based in the UK we have customers from across Europe and the US from all levels of football; professional, semi-professional and amateur players are all given the same excellent level of customer service.
Our History
2003
The launch of GREAT SAVE Based in the back offices of Sanders Sports in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The aim was not just to have an online shop but to have a hub for goalkeepers that included coaching advice, training drills, Q&A sessions and interviews with the biggest names in the game.
2005
Our first award as a company came in 2005 when GREAT SAVE was awarded the E Business of the year for the Isle of Wight. The Great-save.com business rapidly grew beyond our wildest dreams and winning the E Business of the year was a proud moment for our team.
2007
Our 2nd Edition of our Goalkeeper magazine launched after the success of Issue 1. We pulled out all the stops to gain access to some of the world's best goalkeepers and most knowledgeable coaches. We managed to grab an exclusive interview with Shay Given of then Newcastle United. We also teamed up with Simon Smith a top goalkeeper coach for a Q&A session. The 2nd Edition of our magazine was printed here on the Isle of Wight and was sent to over 35,000 goalkeepers across the world.
2010
Along the way we have met some of the biggest names in Goalkeeping. A highlight for us was a day with Pepe Reina of then Liverpool. We spent a morning at a Liverpool Golf course with Pepe and the Uhlsport media team as he took part in a photoshoot for the brand as well as taking interviews from the worlds press and Media.
2021
2021 is going to be the biggest year in our history so far. Newly owned by Generation 9 Sports and Media
